Getting To Know The Blog
Hi welcome to SOMEWHERE OUT THERE a blog about journeys into and through natural spaces most commonly undertaken on foot though I've also explored using canoes, kayaks & mountain bikes. I love to explore National Parks and other conservation areas whether world renowned or little known looking to discover what lies beneath the tree cover or above the bush line. Journeys consist of daytrips, multiday trips or road trips often solo though sometimes with company. This blog will mainly consist of my hikes through these natural spaces with my camera.
Getting To Know Me
I am currently at the time of posting 19 having been born in the City of Brisbane back in December 2002. At a young age my family moved an hour South to acreage in the Gold Coast Hinterland where I would spend the rest of my childhood playing in the creek and surrounding bushlands. Though for 18 months in 2007 & 2008 I lived in Basingstoke, England while my parents had a working holiday visa. I completed my first year of school in Basingstoke and got to travel Europe in the school holidays also visiting Singapore & Egypt when returning home to Australia. Since then the only other country I have visited is New Zealand which I have visited semi-regularly as my father is a kiwi. Thus majority of our family holidays have been domestic destinations up and down Australia's East Coast. I had loved travelling as a kid and enjoyed growing up on acreage though it was only really in 2016 when I started the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award that I really got into the outdoors completing my Bronze in 2018, Silver in 2019 and finally my Gold five years later in 2021. Since graduating High School in 2020 I've moved back to Brisbane part time for university studies while also staying at my family home on the Gold Coast and going on adventures from both home bases.
Blog Going Forward
Posts will be released when I get round to writing them I've got a reasonable back catalogue of adventures to make my way through so more should be on the way.
